Major entrances and strategic locations at The Polytechnic Ibadan is currently been manned by security operatives as the Student Union Government of the Institute holds election.
The security operatives were said to have been around since yesterday to checkmate breakdown of law and order by the students
They were said to have been invited by the management of the institute
Some of the students who spoke with our reporter reacted angrily to the development describing it as a negative signal on the integrity of the institution.
A student who pleaded anonymity said ” i am surprised seeing heavy presence of police at the school premises this morning all because of SUG election, there is nothing on ground that warrants this, this is a citadel of learning.”
