Gunmen struck again in the morning on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Onipe Community, via Idi Ayunre, and kidnapped three women.

Thenewsbearer learnt that the gunmen emerged from the bush around Onipe Community, at about 8:20a.m., and shot sporadically, before taking the victims away to an unknown destination.

According to  Thenewsbearer, the victims were identified as Mrs Okeowo, Mrs Abosede Adebayo and Mrs Bola Ogunrinde.

Mrs Ogunrinde, suspected was said to have driven a Toyota RAV-4, with registration number AGL 66 FY.

Two men (names withheld) had lodged a report on the kidnap incident at Idi Ayunre Division at about 10a.m.

Thenewsbearer also further gathered that the report galvanised the Idi Ayunre Divisional Police Officer into action.

He was said to have been joined by the Officer-in-Charge of Anti-Kidnapping Unit and his team, operatives of Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), local hunters and vigilante group members.

Since the incident, they had reportedly been on the hunt, in search of the victims for rescue, and the abductors for arrest.

It will be noted that the abductors had descended on the road linking Oyo and Ogun states for kidnapping, and carried out at least two operations.

On Tuesday, April 6, three quarry site workers and a female commuter were kidnapped on the road. They regained their freedom on Friday, April 9, after much efforts by the police who were in the bush for the days the abduction lasted.

Osifeso said that the combined teams of AKS, Idi Ayunre Division, other tactical teams, as well as local hunters and vigilante group, had been actively on the trail of the gunmen.

He added that the security agents were making efforts to rescue the victims and arrest the suspects.
