Governor Oyebamiji Presents Employment Letters to 1300 Newly Recruited Teachers in Ekiti

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state on thursday flagged of distribution of letters of appointment to 1,300 newly recruited primary school teachers in the state.

The event which was held at the Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House grounds, Ado- Ekiti was turned into carnival as beneficiaries were singing praises of the governor

The governor tasked them to be more productive in enhancing the educational sector  and impacting knowledge that will shape the foundation of the younger ones.

Recall that about 11,000 applicants took the recruitment exam for teachers in public primary schools in Ekiti State, and only 1, 300 were selected .

Prof. Femi Akinwumi, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in statement during the process said
only applicants with qualifying exam scores of 45% or higher were shortlisted

Prof. Akinwumi who disclosed that the essence is to fill the vacant teaching positions in the state’s public elementary schools said their appointments would address the challenge of fixing teachers for schools in challenging terrain and isolated regions.
