The Oyo State governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde has on Friday Inaugurates the State Advisory Council as part of its efforts aimed at enhancing effective governance in the state.
Gov. Makinde, in his address noted that the establishment of the council was aimed at ensuring that the government tap from the wealth of experience of elders and opinion moulders in the state and not politically motivated at anytime.
According to him, the 10 member advisory council is the first of its kind in the state and the main objective of the council is to advise the government from time to time on policy implementation of developmental programmes.
He, however, urged the advisory council to be up and doing in the task given to them and be readily available when there is need for expert advice.
The the 10 member advisory council include: the former Deputy Chief Whip in the Senate, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola as Chairman of the Committee, while other members include, the former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Mulika Akande Adeola; Chief Jacob Adetoro and former Secretary to the state government, Barr. Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli.
Also in the list is: Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN); Mr. Joseph Olaitan, Mni; Hon. Kamil Akinlabi; Senator Monsura Sunmonu; Chief Gboyega Laoye and Prof. Kolapo Hamzat.
