Gov. Makinde Exempts Civil Servants From 50% Paycut

Oyo State Governor , Engr. Seyi Makinde has  announced the reduction in   the  salaries of all senior political appointees in the state by 50 per cent with immediate effect.

The governor made disclosed this  while participating   at the 2020 International Workers’ Day held at the secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Agodi, Ibadan,on Friday.

He noted that civil servants in the state would not be affected by the paycut, saying that “nothing will affect the welfare and payment of the workers salary despite the dwindling economy.”

He added that the paycut would be channelled towards the execution and completion of developmental projects in the state.
