According to Orlando Owoh’s song earlier alluded to, such figures simply have a large heart.One individual who really fits into the Orlando Owoh’s benevolent deal is Engineer Adegbola Isaac Adegboyega. However, this piece is therefore a tribute for his golden jubilee birthday which he celebrates today Friday, 24 September, 2021. Engineer ‘Gboola Adegboyega is a rising philanthropist, although, big oaks start from little acorns. He is neither wealthy nor a politician. But, through sweat earn income his philanthropic gesture speaks volumes in his little way. In a real sense of life, it’s not the rich people that help people. It’s the good people that help. Many of those that help doesn’t have so much, but they have large heart. Only people endowed with a special milk of human kindness can act in the manner Engineer ‘Gboola does. Perhaps, he copy his kindness from his boss, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, the Oyo state Governor; like master, like servant. To affirm this fact, during the buildup campaign for 2019 gubernatorial election in Oyo state. Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde stated it categorically on Ajilete FM radio, Gambari that, “Ogbomoso people are reliable and good people.” He stressed further, “an Ogbomoso indigene, Adegboola Isaac Adegboyega is my Second-in-Command in my company, Makon Engineering and Technical Services, (METS)…” What a good reputation!
Engineer Adegboola gives according to the need of those who approach him for assistance. He says no only to those who want to play some stupid tricks on his intelligence. He supports the aged, the young, the active and the vulnerable, yet the source of his blessing continues to expand. He never sits down to count what he did for people; rather, he continues to let his benevolence count in the lives of others. He continuously helps, to wipe off tears from the bereaved, suffering and swollen faces of the needy. He encourages the youths to become successful through hard work. Thus, his inclination for hard work and penchant for excellence remain the driving force in everything he does. It is therefore, not surprising that he has been able to enjoy success in every highly competitive environment.
Bros Gbooly as I fondly call him is an exemplary family man, not just by sheer characterization, but also by conscious choices that could cause some positive stir in many other homes. The quality of his amiable and beautiful wife, Mrs. Romoke Adegboyega (nee Oyateru from the noble family compound of Baale Oya, Isale-Ora, Ogbomoso) he is blessed with also attests to how far he has come with his preferences and of course, where life is taking him in the future yet unseen. Talk about his children, they are a pride to behold!
As Engineer ‘Gboola adds another year today, it is important to draw vital lesson(s) from his life; his generosity with humility is quite remarkable. In a clime where people suddenly become arrogant on the account of modest life’s accomplishments, Brother ‘Gboola’s humility is quite rare. He is never look down on anyone, irrespective of social divides.
His conviction is that people with first class brains, uncommon wealth, exceptional ideas and other outstanding endowments should not look down on others. This fact sounds paradoxical, yet it is not far from the gospel truth. Because, these fully reflecting in his lifestyle and attitude to life.
It is not gainsaying, ‘Gboola Olukumapa as he is popularly call due to his academic brilliance is a pride to Ogbomoso and a worthy ambassador of the town. Olukumapa is the family house name of Engineer ‘Gboola. Unarguable, Olukumapa is a household name in Ogbomoso due to its peculiarity of producing eminent personalities in various callings. Consequently, any Olukumapa son or daughter who keep flying the flag of glory of the house in their chosen paths, are naturally affix Olukumapa to their names by the general public. However, as ‘Gboola Olukumapa is celebrating his golden jubilee birthday today, without a doubt, more challenges lie ahead. But, of what essence is life without challenges? That is the stuff that victors are made of. Naturally, challenges are inevitable in human life. But, I have strong belief that, the Lord God has prepared Engineer ‘Gboola for a time like this. May the presence of God be with him in the face of any slightest challenge.
As a true son of Ogbomoso, the nexus between Engineer ‘Gboola and his home town is extremely deep. This is reflecting in his love for the town, most especially, the success and progress of Ogbomoso’s youths are always uppermost in his mind. Since the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, as the people say. He is constantly burning with desire to fire the youths with necessary supports. With his pedigree however, on behalf of Ogbomoso sons and daughters I wish ‘Gboola Olukumapa happy golden jubilee birthday. May the good and merciful God continues to protect and guild him in his humanitarian crusade.
