Double award winner Gafar Olafimihan, has dedicated his awards to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde and the entire Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) family.
The Shooting Stars forward emerged the 2020/21 Nigeria National League (NNL) highest goal scorer, having netted 16 goals during the regular season.
Olafimihan, who scored three more goals at the Super 8 play off, was also named the best player of the season by the organiser of the second-tier league.
“This is a wonderful moment for me. Being part of the squad that returned this great club to the topflight and emerging the highest scorer and the best player of the season, this is awesome”, said the dark skinned forward
“I am dedicating these awards to His Excellency, our governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who is the main reason why we had a successful campaign this season.
“These awards are also for the entire 3SC family, the players’ friendly management, led by Rasheed Balogun, the Edith Agoye led technical crew, our Team Manager, Dimeji Lawal, my teammates, who made it possible for me to achieve these feats, our supporters and of course everyone associated with 3SC”, added Olafimihan.
The former Racine FC, First Bank FC, Ikorodu United, First Bank of Lagos and Osun United striker, also gave his wife and kid a mention, stressing that. “This feat is also for them, for their support for me during the campaign”.
