The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has secured the conviction of 33 traffic offenders during a mobile court sitting held in Iwaraja on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
The mobile court, presided over by Magistrate Ayokunle Siyanbola of the Osun State Judiciary, was conducted as part of the ongoing 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrols, which runs nationwide from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
According to the Sector Command, the exercise was aimed at ridding highways within Osun State of traffic violations that often result in avoidable crashes, injuries and loss of lives. FRSC personnel drawn from the Ipetu-Ijesa Unit Command participated in the operation, which lasted for about three hours.
A total of 33 offenders were arraigned on 75 different traffic offences, with the Sector Legal Officer, CRC Joshua Onalo, prosecuting the cases. All the offenders were convicted by the court and opted to pay fines.
Offences recorded during the exercise included two cases of dangerous driving, 10 driver’s licence violations, 12 speed-related offences and 16 cases of vehicle overloading. The FRSC noted that these offences are among the leading causes of road traffic crashes and fatalities.
The Osun Sector Command reiterated its commitment to prioritising enforcement against critical traffic violations and urged motorists to remain safety-conscious at all times by avoiding dangerous driving habits.
The Command assured the public that it would continue to intensify enforcement and public enlightenment efforts to ensure safer roads within and beyond the period of the 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrols.
