Serving council chairmen and councilors elected under the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP, who are eager to retain their seat for another term, have began intense lobby for party ticket.

Recalled that the state electoral commission OYSIEC mandated all the parties to submit the names of their party candidates for the 2024 election, latest by July and since the guideline was released, the majority of them have been running from pillar to posts.

A reliable source from the PDP reveals that there may not be automatic ticket or consensus candidate as the party will conduct primary election in order to create a level playing ground for all the aspirants.

Although none of the serving chairmen or councilors is yet say they are not recontensting but securing the ticket for another term maybe not an easy ride because, apart from their rivals in the party, other parties are also eyeing the seat and they will present candidates for the election.
