The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has announced the commencement of zonal town hall meetings across Nigeria as part of its nationwide consultation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The organisation said the meetings would provide a platform for broad-based engagement with citizens and stakeholders on critical issues affecting the country.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Tony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Governor Seyi Makinde, the first of the zonal meetings would hold in Katsina, Katsina State, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
The campaign will subsequently move to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for the South-South zonal town hall on Friday, September 25, while the North-Central meeting is scheduled for Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, September 28.
The South-East zonal town hall meeting is scheduled to hold in Enugu, Enugu State, on Wednesday, September 30.
The organisation said dates for engagements in the remaining geopolitical zones would be announced later.
It said the town hall meetings would be issue-based and citizen-driven, focusing on critical national issues, particularly those concerning national stability and the wellbeing of Nigerians.
The campaign described its message as a plan to “Reset Nigeria,” saying it seeks a country where leaders are accessible, accountable and service-driven, while national resources are transparently applied for the benefit of citizens.
It further claimed that the Makinde/Daura campaign had continued to gain grassroots support across the country, describing it as a growing political movement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The statement also cited what it described as recent electoral successes involving the APM, including the party’s reported victory in a Bauchi State House of Assembly bye-election, as evidence of growing support for the party and its presidential candidate.
The organisation called on Nigerians to participate in the scheduled town hall meetings and thanked supporters for what it described as their solidarity and mobilisation for Makinde, his running mate, Lawal Daura, and the APM.
The campaign said the engagements were part of its broader nationwide consultation aimed at presenting its “Reset Nigeria” agenda to citizens ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
