There are clear indications that some of the caretaker chairmen in charge of local government and LCDA’s may not be allowed to participate in the local government election because of poor performances.

Recall that Engineer Seyi Makinde last month forward the names of state Electoral Commission OYSIEC to the state house of Assembly for ratification and they have been screened and confirmed by the lawmakers.

Part of the electoral campaign of Seyi Makinde is to conduct Local Government election few days after he assume office but the legal tussle between the state and the elected council chairmen delayed the processes

Although the party is yet to decide on the modus operandi of selecting who will contest but an impeccable source told this Newspaper that some of them are already running from pillar to post and lobbying those that matters inorder to retain their seat as elected council chairmen

Findings reveals that some of the selected chairmen were initially not the choice of the leaders who really worked for the party in the last election and majority of those leaders are not happy with the imposition.

Also it was gathered that those who did not have electoral value will be not be given chance to participate because the party want to field grassroters in place as part of efforts to retain the state 2023.
