The Ora-Igbomina kingdom on Saturday witnessed a colourful and historic ceremony as the immediate past Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Honourable Settle Olaide, and his wife, Settle Oluwatosin Alasan, were formally installed as the Aare Bobaselu and Yeye Aare Bobaselu of the ancient kingdom.
The installation was performed by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye (Asa’ Ooni Adimula of Ora-Igbomina), who described the titles as a recognition of the couple’s service, commitment and contributions to the growth of the community.
The event drew traditional chiefs, community leaders, political associates, friends and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate what many described as a significant moment in the cultural heritage of Ora-Igbomina.
In his remarks, Oba Abikoye commended Hon. Olaide and his wife for their longstanding dedication to community development, expressing confidence that the new titles would further inspire them to uphold honour, integrity and selfless service to the kingdom.
Responding, Hon. Olaide expressed profound gratitude to the monarch, the traditional council and the people of Ora-Igbomina for the honour, noting that the recognition was a call to greater service. His wife, Oluwatosin, also appreciated the community for the gesture and offered prayers for continued peace and progress in the land.
Well-wishers prayed for the couple’s long life, prosperity and divine guidance in their new roles, expressing hope that the blessings of Allah would continually abide in their household.
The ceremony concluded with vibrant cultural displays, music and celebrations in honour of the newly installed Aare and Yeye Aare Bobaselu of Ora-Igbomina
