Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a group of non – indigenes living in Oyo state and two other groups on Thursday declared support for President Muhammodu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and all other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the state.
The groups, namely: Pathfinder Non – Indigenes Association of Nigeria, led by Chief Mrs. Ngozi Amaogoranya Adora; APC Volunteer Support Group for Buhari, led by Chief Mrs. Yetunde Babajide; and Friends of Democracy and Development, led by Dr. Soji Oyeranmi, made this declaration at a  press conference was addressed in Ibadan on Tuesday.
The press conference was addressed to intimate members of the public on the Special Campaign and Endorsement Rally, which will take place at Ibadan Northwest Local Government Area of Oyo state on Wednesday.
Addressing the press conference, Chief Mrs. Adora revealed that all non – indigenes living in the state, especially the Ndigbos, are ready to vote massively for Buhari, Ajimobi and Adelabu in the February 16 and March 2 general elections.
Adora, who is the Oluomo Igbo of Ibadan and Oyo state, maintained that the endorsement of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarka, by the Ohaneze Ndigbo will not stop Igbo people in the state from voting for Buhari and other APC candidates.
Similarly, Dr. Oyeranmi, the initiator and Coordinator of Friends of Democracy and Development, urged Nigerians to vote massively for President Buhari in order to avoid “what I call the South African debacle”.
According to Dr. Oyeranmi, “majority  of blacks in South Africa are still blaming Nelson Mandela for not doing second term to consolidate on his first term achievements, as they think that this had dragged them backward”.
He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to allow Buhari to stay in the office beyond 2019, for the wheel of progress his administration has made, not to be rolled back by those who destroyed Nigeria in the past.
