Ekiti Youths Vow to Resist Attempt to Turn State Into A Battle Field by Politicians

Youths in Ekiti state under the aegies of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ekiti State Chapter has vowed to strongly resist move by any politician to turn the state into a battle ground during election.

 

Just as they condemned the attack Ekiti State Governor Dr Ayodele Fayose and supporters of Peoples Democratic Party during the rally in Ado Ekiti, the state capital on wednessday.

The youths in a press statement signed by its chairman Adedamol Ogunmola described the attack as on Fayose”as a sinister plans by President Muhammadu Buhari and APC gubernatorial Candidates Dr Kayode Fayemi in robbing the electorate of Ekiti State it’s mandate in the forthcoming Saturday July 14th 2018 gubernatorial Election.”

“The Council charges President Buhari in the interest of peace to halt this unholy move which if allowed to continue can truncate our nascent democracy.”

They also also urged the electorate to troop out en mass on Saturday 14th July 2018 to exercise their franchise without fear of intimidation.

“The security operatives who are to maintain law and order should not be seen to be partial while discharging their duties.”

“We implore our teeming youths to remain calm as we are already working out modalities to achieve a violence free election.”
