Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, has called on Muslim faithful across the country to pray for leaders at all levels of government.
While felicitating with the muslim ummah, the first-class monarch, urged the political class to improve the common lots of the people.
The traditional ruler urged Nigerians to embrace forgiveness, togetherness and patriotism , adding that the traditional institution will continue to play its leading role in advocating peace and unity.
In a statement signed by his Private Secretary, Toyin Ajamu, Oba Oyewumi charged the muslim ummah to extend the merriment of the season to people of other religious faiths.
He said, “as we celebrate Eid-el fitr, I call on Muslims across the country to sustain the teachings of the holy Quran and exemplary qualities of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in their pursuits.
” The festive season calls for sober reflection as individuals and as a people.
” People at the helm of affairs must prioritise the welfare of the people in their policy trust.
“As we mark Eid-el fitr, I implore Moslems to pray for the nation”.
The monarch wished Nigerians a hitch-free Eid-el fitr celebration.
Also,Hon Olusegun Odebunm, chairman House of Reps Committee on National Orientation Ethics and Values has congratulated the Muslims Umah on completion of 1442AH Ramadan and celebration of Eid-el-Fitri
In his Sallah message ,Hon. Odebunmi who is also representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Fed constituentcy said he joins Muslims and all other patriotic citizens in the expectation that God Almighty will hearken to the supplications of the faithful and bless Nigeria more abundantly with peace and national prosperity.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant Al-Maruf’ Yinka Ajibolu, Hon Olusegun said as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitri and the end of Ramadan,he urges Nigerians to continue to support the present administration of President Muhammad Buhari in every possible way and also to uphold the ideals of patience ,tolerance , perseverance humanity and self denial which were observed during the holly month of Ramadan.
Similarly the lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Distinguished Senator Buhari Abdulfatai Ph.D has felicitated with all Muslims around the globe on the successful completion of the month long Ramadan Fasting.
In a release made available through his Media Office, the Chairman, Senate Commitee on Land Transport, rejoiced with all Muslims for the grace to successfully complete this year Ramadan period.
” We bless the Almighty Allah (SAW) for seeing us through this month long dawn-to- sunrise fasting period. Alhamdulilai !!!
” I urge us to all continue imbibing the tenets of the Holy Month, which includes, peace, love, care, kindness and total submission to the will of Allah, even after the period of the fasting.
” The pace of insecurity and other challenges confronting the nation is alarming which can only be surmounted through ceaseless prayers, peaceful coexistence and cooperation with relevant security operatives. Insha Allah, Nigeria will overcome her challenges.
” I equally urge us to be modest in the mood of celebration and be adherent to the rules of the deadly pandemic, Covid-19.

Eid-El-Fitri, also called “Festival of Breaking the Fast” is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world to mark the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
