Disaster:Multi-million Valuables Destroyed As Fire Guts Akesan Market in Oyo (Photos)

Goods and valuables worth Millions of Naira were destroyed as the popular Akesan Market in Oyo was engulfed by early morning inferno 

Akesan is a traditional market in Oyo

The inferno according to a reliable source started around 12:am on sunday morning

Traders were seen wailing and weeping profusely as all efforts to quench the fire did not yield positive response it was learnt that the firefighters from Oyo could not move to the scene of the incident because their equipment was not in good shape.

This development forced angry youths to attack the fire station and destroyed their car

Some of the witnesses

The cause of the fire is not known yet.

Some of the traders calls for help as they lament that most of them borrowed loan from Microfinance banks and need to repay

Alade, a community leader who was also at the scene lament the disaster and urge the government is to reconstruct the market and support the traders with no interest loan
