Poultry Association of Nigeria PAN Oyo state chapter today donated medical equipment and poultry products worth 6.5m to Oyo state government.
The items include 3 Manual ICU Beds and 1automatic ICU Bed,1 tonne or 1000 kgs of Broiler Chicken meat, 3000 of 100ml Sanitizer, 10 of 500ml of Sanitizer and 12 by 20 litres of Disinfectants.
The food items were presented to the Commissioner for Agriculture Hon Muyiwa Ojekunle while the ICU bed and Sanitizers were received by the state commissioner for health Dr Bashir Bello.
Speaking at the presentation, the state chairman of the association Mr Agboola Gbemisoye said “It has been our custom as a partner in progress to support the state and we identify with Governor Seyi Makinde led administration at this trying time and we believe that our support will add to government’s effort in providing for the people”.
“ Poultry products are great sources of nutrients to the body, they help boost immunity and healthy body so we want people not only those who are positive or in isolation to eat egg but everybody irrespective of age and gender.
The General Secretary of the Association, Dr OluGbenga Ogunwole while speaking with journalists said the pandemic situation concerned everybody and as an association they decided to support governments efforts in ameliorating the suffering of the people
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture Dr Debo Akande who received the items on behalf of the governor commended the association for their gesture and promise to make judicious use of the items.
He said the governor will be informed of their contributions to the fight against COVID 19 in the state Also the commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Muyiwa Ojekunle and Health,Dr Bashir Bello in their separate remarks also commended the association for the support and urge them not to relent in identifying with the government in its bid to make the state a better place
“We will make use of the beds , disinfectant and hand sanitizers at the Olodo centre and other places” Dr Bello said
