COVID-19: Niger Govt. Bans Operation of Commercial Motorcycles.

As part of measure adopted to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Niger state Government has banned activities of commercial motorcycles in the state

The development was part of the decison taking at the meeting of the taskforce committee with the state Governor Abubakar sanni

Chief press secretary to the governor Mary Noel-Berje who released the highlight of the meeting in a statement also disclosed that the state is collaborating with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC to establish molecular laboratory to increase testing capacities in the next two weeks

While retaining status quo on the two weeks lock down, the committee said surveilance system is strengthened to dicate any case of community transmission of the virus

The Government however urged the general public to comply with the lock down order so that normal life may resume soon
