The Chairperson of the Nigeria Police Netball Association, CSP Ololade Oluwaseun Babatola in a netball exhibition match at the ongoing 14th Biennial Police Games reaffirms the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to support netball and promote it as one of the major sports in the country.
In a speech with newsmen at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamansigba, Ibadan, CSP Babatola hammers on the importance of netball to make full return to the Nigeria sporting scene, according to her “The game of netball is back and we want to showcase it to the whole world in order for people to key into it. Although, it is a female game but males are now interested in playing it.”
Speaking on the role of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring that more athletes emerge and participate in the sports. CSP Babatola said “With the talents abound in Nigeria Police, the country will benefit from it and I’m very sure, this will form the bedrock of athletes that will win laurels for the country in international competition.”
She concluded by appreciating the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun for the opportunity to showcase netball in the Nigeria Police and for his unwavering support for the game of netball while affirming that the players will live up to expectation. She also appreciated the FSO, CP Patrick Atayero for his support, promising that the netball game has come to stay and promise to take the game to international standards.
