Again, bad weather prevents Acting President Osinbajo rescheduled visit to Ondo state

The  rescheduled visits of the Acting  President Yemi Osinbajo to Ondo state was again suspended  on Monday due to bad weather condition.

The governor of Ondo state Dr Olusegun Mimiko  however commissioned the international conference centres , the Dome and  a caring heart mega school Ijapo Akure there will billed to be officially inaugurated by the vice president

Laolu Akande, spokesperson for professor Osinbajo  on his twitter handler posted “Weather conditions again prevent Ag. President Osinbajo’s planned visit to Akure today. Sincere apologies to the govt & people of the State”

It would be recalled that the visits of the vice president was rescheduled to Monday when his aircraft could not  land on Friday due to bad weather

Governor Mimiko while speaking at the commissioning of the mega school in Ijapo told the gathering that the Vice president sent his apology and promise to visit the state very soon

‘ Again the bad weather condition did not allow the acting president  professor Osinbajo to leave Abuja and he has promised that whenever he is in the state  he will make sure he also visits some of the projects”

At the International conference center where the vice president is suppose to meet with the leaders and traditional ruler from riverrine  area of the state, scores of traditional rulers and youths were disappointed

Some of them had arrived the venue of the event as early as 10 am waiting to see the vice president for interactive session on the plight of the region and the need for peace to reign

But the coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programm Gen Paul Boroh who addressed the gathering at the international conference centre said the effort of the acting president visit to the Niger Delta states has been yielding fruitful results

He noted that the acting president was able to make the people of the region to see the need to allow peace to reign for meaningful development and progress of their states

Boroh noted that “ in all the nine Niger Delta states, Ondo state is the most peaceful  because of the involvement of the  people in the administration of Dr Olusegun Mimiko led  administration

He said the governments of Dr Olusegun Mimiko  did well in human capacity building and infrastructural development which are the  two major indices for of development in the state

He however assured the riverine people of Ondo state that they will not be left out in the scheme of things at the national level particularly in the area of amnesty  program and other developments

Other speakers at the event including Professor Akin Onigbinde,  Chief Olu Falae and others commended Dr Mimiko’s ingenuity in transforming Ondo state and wish him well in his future endavours

Dr Olu falae in his emotion laden speech said ‘  I am going to miss Mimiko as the governor of Ondo state , he has done very well and I am satisfied, when I said I am satisfied he knows what it means”
