Awero Luxury Hotel & Resort is set to spotlight Igboho’s growing appeal as a destination for leisure and cultural tourism as it marks its second anniversary on April 1, alongside the grand coronation of Aare Doc Rasak Ayanfe as the Aare Fuji of Oke-Ogun.
The event, scheduled to hold at the hotel premises, is expected to draw visitors, dignitaries, entertainers and culture enthusiasts, underscoring the increasing visibility of Igboho within the Oke-Ogun tourism landscape.
Chairman of the hotel, Alhaji Olawoyin Rahman Lowoori, said the establishment was conceived to bridge the gap in quality hospitality services in the area, providing a comfortable and modern lodging experience for tourists, returning indigenes and business travellers.
“I identified the gap of having a luxurious hotel in our area and decided to build a standard facility where visitors can lodge and enjoy comfort. Since we commenced operations, we have increased the inflow of tourists and guests into the town, contributing to the local economy,” he said.
Lowoori noted that beyond accommodation, the hotel has evolved into a hub for events and cultural experiences, consistently attracting high-profile gatherings that boost visitor traffic to Igboho.
The anniversary celebration is designed as a blend of hospitality, culture and community impact. Highlights include traditional Oke-Ogun dance performances, offering guests an immersive experience of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
In line with sustainable tourism and community development, the management will also unveil an Educational Support Initiative, awarding one-year scholarships to five secondary school students, reinforcing the role of tourism-driven enterprises in social impact.
Staff excellence will be recognised through a series of awards celebrating service delivery, professionalism and dedication—key pillars in building a competitive hospitality destination.
The programme will further honour distinguished personalities whose contributions to leadership and community development continue to shape the socio-cultural fabric of the region, adding prestige and wider appeal to the event.
A major attraction is the coronation of Aare Doc Rasak Ayanfe as the Aare Fuji of Oke-Ogun, a cultural highlight expected to attract Fuji music fans and deepen the cultural tourism value of the celebration.
The event will be chaired by Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole Wolekanle, Chairman of the Oyo State local Government Service Commission, with Alhaji Rasak Oyewumi, High Chief Aare of Igboho, as Father of the Day.
Guest performances by Doc Samson Ajesheun, Doc Adekunle Dakeja and Doc Raman Akanni (Mr. Lecturer) are expected to add entertainment value, while the event will be anchored by Mr. Sekoni Igboho and Miss Christiana Odunayo.
With its blend of modern hospitality, cultural showcases and community-driven initiatives, Awero Luxury Hotel & Resort is increasingly positioning Igboho as an emerging destination for cultural and leisure tourism in Oke-Ogun, contributing to local economic growth and expanding the region’s tourism footprint.
