The University of Ibadan woke up to receive a sad news of the sudden death of Professor of Exercise Physiology, Ademola Olasupo Abass.
Professor Abass who was until last night seen amidst his friends and colleagues on campus died in the early hours of Wednesday in his house along Eleyele.
Aged 52, Professor Abass was until his death Chairman of University of Ibadan Intra-campus Transport committee a position he has held for three years before his demise.
Reacting to his death, emotionally broken Chairman of University of Ibadan Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr Deji Omole described the news of the death as the most unbelievable and shocking news in the year adding that he was with the late professor on Tuesday evening.
According to Omole, Professor Abass was a committed ASUU member who was at various times held position as Faculty Representative of the Union in the Faculty of Education, was also a member of the expanded Executive of the union at the premier university.
Late Professor Abass whose body has been deposited at the University morgue became a professor in 2011.
Late Abass had National Certificate in Education of Osun State College of Education Ilesa 1985 and B.Ed. in Physical and Health Education (First Class Honours) at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan 1990
He had his MEd. in Physical and Health Education (with specialization i Exercise Physiology) of University of Ibadan, Ibadan 1992 and Ph.D in Exercise physiology of University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1998.
