Apete Residents Urge Makinde To Expedite Action on Apete – Akufo Road, Laments Poor Electricity Supply

Residents of Apete Community of Ibadan have called on the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde to expedite actiom on the rehabilitation of the Apete – Akufo road network.

Apete, a community in Ido local government has been suffering from road with a deplorable condition which has made movement difficult for petty traders, motorists and commercial workers to move for their day to day activities.

One of traders from Awotan axis of Apete Community, Mrs. Popoola Barakat told National Insight that the bad road network has made it difficult for businesses to run smoothly in the community especially during the raining season.

They however commended Gov. Seyi Makinde for his developmental intervention on the rehabilitation of the Asunle Adaba dumpsite Site in Awotan.

Over the years, The road that serves people living between Apete – Akufo has been a death trap for its residents most especially during the raining season.

It would be recall that Governor Makinde approved the construction of the 12kilomtre Apete-Akufo road few months ago

National Insight during an inspection to the road further discovered that the 12km Apete – Akufo road has become too worsened to be ployed by commuters since the rain started this year.

The contracted has though started work with construction of bridges but residents expect that the work should not be delayed as promised by the governor

Another resident Adewuyi Ganiyu also expresses concerns over the poor electricity supply in the community, unlike before, we do have electricity supply for like 18 hours in a day but now we hardly have one hour in a day and they give us outrageous bill.
