The Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly Reconciliation Committee has said it has achieved about 85 per cent reconciliation among aspirants who participated in the recently concluded House of Assembly primary election.
The committee disclosed this on Sunday at a stakeholders’ meeting attended by House of Assembly candidate aspirants, party leaders and other stakeholders, where it urged members to put their differences behind them and work collectively towards returning the APC to power in Oyo State in 2027.
The 12-member committee, chaired by Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, popularly known as Gbayawu, with Aare Abisoye Fagade as Co-Chairman and Dr. (Barr.) Rotimi Oke-Owo as Secretary, was constituted to engage aspirants and resolve grievances arising from the primary election.
In his welcome address, Adisa urged the aspirants to remain calm, bury their differences and work together with the party, stressing that the collective interest of the APC should take precedence over individual ambitions.
He commended the aspirants for demonstrating maturity and sportsmanship throughout the reconciliation process, urging them to remain committed to the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The committee, in a communiqué read by its Co-Chairman, Aare Abisoye Fagade, said the majority of the aspirants who purchased nomination forms, as well as other party members who expressed interest in the electoral process, had demonstrated willingness to work harmoniously with one another and the party leadership.
According to the communiqué, the reconciled aspirants also pledged their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the election of APC candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Fagade said the committee particularly appreciated the aspirants for placing the overall interest of the party above personal interests and demonstrating a commitment to strengthening the APC across the state.
The communiqué urged APC leaders, members, stakeholders and supporters to embrace reconciliation, eschew divisive tendencies and work collectively towards building a stronger and more united party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A former Minister and chieftain of the party, Prof. Taoreed Adedoja, commended the aspirants for their understanding and praised the reconciliation committee for its efforts towards resolving the grievances arising from the primary election.
Adedoja urged the aspirants to sustain the spirit of cooperation and continue working for the success of the party, expressing optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.
The Oyo State APC governorship candidate, Senator Sarafadeen Alli, also appealed to the aspirants to unite and work together towards returning the party to government in the state.
Alli assured them that his administration, if elected, would operate an inclusive government in which party members and stakeholders would be carried along.
“Let us ensure that we get to power. The coming government is for us,” he told the aspirants.
The governorship candidate also pledged to support financial autonomy for local governments, assuring the stakeholders that local government autonomy would receive attention under his administration.
Also speaking, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Chairman of the Governor’s Reconciliation Committee, commended the renewed spirit of unity among the aspirants, saying the development would strengthen the APC’s chances of winning the 32 State House of Assembly constituencies in the state in 2027.
Other key stakeholders at the meeting included the APC State Chairman, Bar. Sarafadeen Alli, his deputy and other party leaders.

(Mrs.) Ramota Okemakinde, Hon. Raji Rasaki, Hon. Obatunde Oladapo, Hon. Kehinde Oloya, Hon. Segun Ajanaku, Hon. Shakiru Fagunwa and Dr. Gafar Salawudeen.
The committee expressed confidence that the renewed cooperation among the aspirants would contribute significantly to the electoral success of the APC in Oyo State in the 2027 general elections
