Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have unanimously endorsed Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as the party’s gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
The endorsement, which aligns with the directive of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was announced at the Oyo State APC Leadership Summit held at the Bible Guest House Hall, Samonda, Ibadan.
The summit attracted key stakeholders, party executives, elders, and influential leaders from across the state, all expressing a unified commitment to reposition the party for electoral victory.
Prominent chieftains, including Ayo Adeseun and Fatai Ibikunle, declared their support for Alli, describing him as a seasoned legislator and a unifying figure capable of leading the state effectively. They cited his political experience, grassroots connection, and track record of service as qualities that set him apart.
Speakers at the event emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and strategic coordination within the party, noting that the consensus around Alli reflects a shared determination to reclaim power in the state. They added that his candidacy enjoys broad acceptance across different demographics and political divides.
In his response, Senator Alli expressed appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for the confidence placed in him, pledging to promote inclusive governance and sustainable development if elected. He also assured members of his commitment to carrying all factions of the party along.
The summit ended with a renewed call for unity among APC members and a collective resolve to secure victory in the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
