A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon (Mrs) Adeboyin Oladokun ADEOLA has officially announced her defection from the opposition party to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.
Hon Adeola who is politically known as ‘IMOLE DE’ made her decision known on Tuesday in a statement personally signed her and made available to newsmen in Igboho, Oorelope Local Government.
Adeboyin who was the leading aspirant for Oyo North Senatorial District said having paid all the necessary dues as stipulated by the National Working Committee of the party only for the minority in Oyo state to hijack the structures of the party and imposed their preferred candidate which prevented her from emerging as the candidate of the party through a free and fair democratic process.
Adeola who has almost three decades of professional experience in finance, banking and management added that she has defected to the ruling party, PDP alongside thousands of her supporters and other chieftains of the party in all the thirteen local governments which made up Oyo North Senatorial District.
According to her, having watched with keen interest, she decided to join the PDP owing to the sterling performance of Governor Seyi Makinde’s developmental strides in Oke Ogun. Some of the projects include, Moniya-Iseyin, Iseyin-Oyo, Iseyin-Ogbomoso, Saki township road, Saki-Ogboro-Igboho, relocation of OYSADA headquarters to Saki, LAUTECH campus in Iseyin among other legacy projects.
She added that PDP gives professionals opportunities to thrive in the party and promise to work assiduously for the reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2023.
She is the daughter of one of the founding fathers of the PDP who also doubles as the former chairman of Oorelope local government, Igboho, Apostle Sunday Adeniji Adeola. She however said her formal declaration and that of her supporters will hold in few days time.
