With the Anambra governorship election set for Saturday, November 8, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its determination to unseat the incumbent governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, dismissing any possibility of an alliance or compromise.
Political analysts suggest that the election is shaping up to be a three-horse race between Soludo’s ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), APC, and the Labour Party (LP), as no other party has gained significant traction ahead of the primaries.
Speaking in Awka on Friday, the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, reaffirmed the party’s resolve to take over the Anambra Government House, insisting that APC remains the most credible alternative to the current administration.
“The only party today that is willing, able, and competent to chase Governor Charles Soludo out of Government House, Awka, is our party—the APC,” Basiru stated. “If anyone insinuates that our party is not ready for this task, I will simply respond with Fela’s song: No agreement today, no agreement tomorrow. That is why we have taken the Anambra assignment very seriously.”
Basiru’s statement underscores APC’s readiness to intensify its campaign efforts as political activities in the state gain momentum.
