Alaafin’s Sons Secure APC, PDP Reps Ticket

In what appears to be sibling rivalry, two  sons of the highly revered traditional ruler in Oyo stats, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 11, the Alaafin of Oyo have secured the tickets of their respective parties to contest the Oyo federal constituency seat in the 2019 House of Representatives’ election.

They were both eyeing  Afijio/Oyo East/ Oyo West federal constituency seat

Prince Akeem popularly known as Skimeh who is a serving member of the National Assembly is being challenged by his Bayo Adeyemi D-Gov.

While Akeem is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, his brother D.Gov will fly the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2019 for the same seat

Both have been politically active for more than a decade. While Skimeh, as Akeem is popularly known, became chairman of Atiba local government in 2007, when he was barely 31, D-Guv, as Bayo is popularly called was secretary of Oyo West local government in 2003, when he was 26.

Skimeh and D-Gov were born on December 8 and 9, 1977 respectively.
