Custodians of culture and traditional rulers from all walks of life including Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, Iba Gani Adams Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland and reknown Juju maestro, Chief Sunday Adegeye popularly known as KSA were among the dignitaries expected to grace the lauching of books to promote Yoruba tradition, culture and language in Ogbomoso on tuesday 22nd Oct 2019 at Havila Event Center, Ogbomoso.
The two books entitled ,Timo-Toye and 1500, Yoruba proverb was authored by Mr Sayo Alagbe, a journalist and writer with passion for promotion of Yoruba culture ans tradition
Other dignitaries expected to grace the ocassion includes: a legal luminry Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari,Chairman Senate Committee on a land Transport, Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, Chairman House of Reps Committee on Information, National Orieniation ,Ethics and Value, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, Former Governor of Oyo state , Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre, Director General Ekiti State council for Arts and Culture among others
In a press statement signed by the authour Mr Sayo Alagbe, the event is scheduled to hold at Havila Event center, Ogbomoso.
Alagbe said Alaafin of Oyo, His imperial Majesty, Oba Làmídí Oláyíwolá Adéyemí 111 is the royal father of the day, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, is the chairman of the occasion while King Sunny Ade, KSA will entertain the guests.
” I am a cultural enthutiast and i believe one of the way through which we can promote our cultute and tradition is documentation, today most of our people cannot communicate effectively well in their mother tongue and i believe this book would not only teach them but broaden their horizon on understanding Yoruba proverbs and their meaning.
