Former gubernatorial candidate and public affairs analyst, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State and Senator, Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi, describing his legacies as enduring benchmarks in the political history of the state.

Tegbe made this known in a statement issued to commemorate what would have been Ajimobi’s 76th birthday, noting that the former governor’s life was defined by courage, clarity of purpose and uncommon grit.

According to him, Ajimobi believed deeply in order, progress and excellence, values he pursued with discipline and conviction throughout his years in public service.

“His leadership was firm but thoughtful, bold yet strategic. He governed with a clear sense of direction, leaving behind structures, systems and standards that continue to shape governance in Oyo State,” Tegbe said.

He further described the late senator as an intellectual with sharp wit and commanding eloquence, who asked hard questions, made difficult decisions and never shied away from responsibility.

“Even in disagreement, he compelled attention and commanded respect,” he added.

Beyond politics, Tegbe noted that Ajimobi was a devoted family man, loyal friend and mentor to many, stressing that he invested in people as much as he invested in institutions.

“At 76, his presence is missed, but his influence endures in the people he developed, the infrastructure he championed and the culture of purposeful governance he advanced,” he said.

Tegbe concluded that Ajimobi’s legacy remains a reference point rather than a footnote in Oyo State’s political evolution, adding that he should be remembered with gratitude for a life of service, courage and conviction.
