Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has relieved all his political aides of their duties with immediate effect, in a move aimed at enhancing governance efficiency and strengthening service delivery across the state.
The affected officials include all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) attached to the Governor.
In an official statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing aides for their services and contributions to the development of Ondo State, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
The statement, however, disclosed that the decision is part of a broader restructuring strategy designed to reposition the administration for improved performance.
Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa is set to appoint about 1,000 new political aides drawn from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state. The planned appointments, according to the statement, are intended to deepen grassroots engagement, enhance coordination, and bring fresh capacity into the government.
The development signals a significant shake-up in the state’s political structure, with expectations that the incoming aides will play key roles in advancing the administration’s policies and programmes at the grassroots level.
The appointments are expected to be announced in due course.
