Ademola Ige Solicits Oyo Indigenes in the Diaspora Support for Seyi Makinde’s Administration

An aide to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige has solicited the support of the Oyo state Indigenes living in the Diaspora for the present administration to succeed in its developmental agenda.

Hon. Ademola Ige who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism made the call while receiving the Coordinator European chapter of Oodua Progressive Union (OPU), Chief Victor Mobolaji in his office yesterday.

Hon. Ige explained that this call became imperative in view of the fact that for any government to succeed, it requires the support and collaboration of every Indigenes whether living within or outside the state of their birth.

According to him, “no matter how sweet a foreign land may be it cannot be like a place where one is born. Therefore, it is important for every Indigene of this State to come back home and join hands with the present administration under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde who is desirous to uplift the state and reposition it to its Pace Setter status and bring good governance to all and sundry”.

He further hinted that part of the agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde administration is to turn Oyo State to an investment friendly centre through development of many tourist sites that Oyo State is blessed with, so as to serve as source of attraction to would be tourists and people in the Diaspora who are thinking of visiting domestic tourist centre.

While welcoming Chief Victor Mobolaji who is the Akingbayi Aare Ona Kakanfo back from Sweden, Hon. Ige enjoined him to spread the gospel of the new dawn of the good governance being witnessed under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to other people living in the Diaspora so as to come back home and contribute their quota.

Earlier in his remarks, Chief Victor Mobolaji had lauded the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for the giant strides he has recorded in every sector of governance in the State.

He said that he was impressed as somebody who had left the State for a long time with the level of infrastructural development currently going on in the State, stressing that they living in the Diaspora would give maximum support to his administration.

He also commended Hon. Ademola Ige for his efforts at ensuring that the vision of the governor to revamp tourism sector in the State is realisable, stressing that Hon. Ige has carved a niche for himself going by his antecedents and wide experience as former council chairman, former Senior Special Assistant, former Lawmaker and now a special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism.

On the issue of insecurity being witnessed in some states, Chief Mobolaji called on South West Governors to work together to flush out criminals among the fulanis disguising as herders to commit crimes like kidnapping, raping and cause unrest in the south western region.

He also used the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams for his capacity, courage and insistence and working tirelessly and strategically that no land in any part of Yorubaland is taking over by Fulani herdsmen.

He concluded that the Oodua Progressive Union founded by Iba Gani Adams 10 years ago with the sole purpose of fostering unity among the sons and daughters of Oduduwa in the Diaspora now has members in about 93 countries all over the world and propagating the cause of the Yorubas.

Chief Victor Mobolaji Adewale also holds the title of Akinrogun Arigidi Akoko land with special interest in hospitality and auto business in Ibadan.
