In recognition of her notable contributions to human and community development, particularly in the education of the less privileged, the Chief Executive Officer of Ruffy Edward Initiative, a non-governmental organisation with footprints across public schools and various communities, Princess Adedolapo Oni, has been conferred with an honorary Doctor of Business Administration (Honoris Causa).
The conferment of the honorary doctorate by Prowess University, Delaware, USA, is a testament to years of monitoring and evaluation of the impactful activities led by the founder of the Ruffy Edward Foundation. Princess Oni has consistently championed transformative initiatives aimed at alleviating hunger and empowering the next generation.
According to an official memo forwarded to the honouree, the institution acknowledged her outstanding contributions to business leadership and information technology, as well as her excellence in entrepreneurship and enterprise development.
The memo further highlighted her impactful humanitarian services and unwavering commitment to community upliftment as enduring legacies.
Princess Adedolapo Oni is a woman of noble heritage, exceptional intellect, and remarkable enterprise. She hails from the revered royal lineage of the illustrious Oni/Fadumila family of Okemesi-Ekiti and is a proud granddaughter of the late Chief T.A. Oni & Sons, whose legacy remains significant in Ibadanland, particularly for donating the popular Oni & Sons building to the Oyo State Government for use as a public hospital.
She began her academic journey at Maryhill Convent School, Ibadan, before attending St. Anne’s School, Ibadan, and later the International School, Ibadan. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from the University of Maiduguri.
In pursuit of global excellence, she furthered her education in the United Kingdom, obtaining a degree in Business and Event Management, and subsequently a Master of Science in Business and Project Management from Anglia Ruskin University. These qualifications have equipped her with strong strategic and managerial expertise.
Beyond her academic achievements, Princess Oni has acquired several professional certifications, including Information Technology consultancy with specialisation in project and data management. With globally recognised certifications such as PRINCE2, she has demonstrated expertise in delivering innovative solutions and managing complex systems efficiently.
Speaking on the conferment, Princess Adedolapo Oni stated that her work through the Ruffy Edward Foundation is driven by a passion to bring succour to homes, combat malnutrition, and address the challenge of out-of-school children by helping them return to the classroom.
