The Oyo chapter of Alliance for Democracy, AD, has dismissed reports of the dissolution of the executive members of the state.

The party leadership stated this in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the party, Chief Michael Akinropo, and Hon. Wale Adebayo respectively

The statement stated that any claim or statements from any quarters of any dissolution are false, illegal, unconstitutional, fraudulent, null and void; and does not accord with Article 15(2) of the AD Constitution as amended on 3rd December 2015.

“The said Article 15(2) provides that; “Except as otherwise provided in this constitution, all officers of the party elected or appointed into the party’s organ shall serve in such organ for a period of four (4) years and shall be eligible for re-election or re- appointment for another period of four (4) years only; provided that an officer elected or appointed to fill a vacancy arising from death, resignation or otherwise shall notwithstanding be eligible for election to the same office for two more terms.”
