“Ogbomosoland’s development will not be confined to one area.” This was the strong declaration made by the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, as he reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive growth across all local governments within Ogbomoso.

Speaking during the third session of the ongoing Ogbomosoland-wide townhall meetings held in Iresaadu, Surulere Local Government, Oba Ghandi emphasized that every community, regardless of size or location, will benefit from the 25-Year Developmental Roadmap being implemented under his leadership.

“I am not looking for anything other than the growth and transformation of this land,” he said, addressing a gathering of traditional rulers, chiefs, and residents. “We are one people. Our unity is our strength, and our development must reflect that.”

Oba Ghandi extended heartfelt appreciation to the Kingmakers of Iresaadu—including the Balogun, Ikolaba, Bara, Areago, Otun Aresa—and the Mogaji of the two ruling houses, along with the princes, princesses, and the entire community for their warm reception and shared commitment to Ogbomoso’s future.

He was joined by fellow traditional rulers from Ogbomoso and Surulere LGA, including the Alapa of Okin-Apa, Onijabata of Jabata, Oloko of Oko, Iba Iyaoje, Balogun Olugbon, Olodanbon of Odanbon, Oluwofin of Iwofin, and the Onisapa of Isapa, among others.

Highlighting the purpose of the townhall meetings, Oba Ghandi said they are platforms for feedback, engagement, and collective planning. “We’ve set up 13 strategic committees focused on education, healthcare, security, agriculture, infrastructure, and the digital economy,” he revealed.

Particular emphasis was placed on education and agriculture. “Let our children go to school. Let them sit at the table of decision-makers,” he urged. “The future depends on how we prepare them today. Agriculture and digital innovation are non-negotiable pillars of our tomorrow.”

The monarch called on all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland—home and abroad—to contribute to building a land where prosperity and opportunity are shared by all.

“Let’s rise together. Let’s build together,” he concluded. “Let’s make Ogbomoso a place our children will be proud to call home.”
