A former military officer and Oyo State governorship hopeful, Dr Gbenga Adegbola (Rtd), who alongside other eminent members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), like Chief Bisi Akande, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, the APC National Secretary, Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Florence Ita Giwa, Chief Bayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, and Ambassador (Lt General RTD) Tukur Buratai, attended the Summit, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organizing the recent party summit held in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event, Adegbola described the summit as timely and strategic, adding that it would further strengthen the party’s internal cohesion and readiness ahead of future elections.
“This summit is a step in the right direction,” Adegbola stated. “It shows that the APC leadership, under President Tinubu, is committed to fostering unity and deepening party structures nationwide. Such engagements will not only boost our electoral chances but also restore public trust in our collective vision.”
Adegbola, who is believed to be nurturing strong ambitions for the 2027 Oyo State governorship race, emphasized that party unity remains a key pillar for progress. “A united APC will bring more hope to Nigerians, particularly in states like Oyo where there is a strong appetite for responsive governance and inclusive development,” he added.
The summit, which brought together key stakeholders, governors, lawmakers, and party faithful from across the country, focused on party reformation, conflict resolution, and strategies for sustained political relevance.
Adegbola’s remarks have further fueled speculations about his gubernatorial bid, as he continues to position himself as a stabilizing force within the party in Oyo State.
