All is set for the maiden edition of the Tomiwa Aregbesola Foundation, as it rolls out its empowerment initiative tomorrow in Akure, On do State.
The empowerment initiative is slated for the Babafunke Ajasin Hall, Ministry of Women Affairs, Alagbaka, Akure,
According to the president of the foundation, Mr. Tomiwa Aregbesola, the initiative was borne out of his desire to engender economic empowerment, capacity building and social inclusion.
Aregbesola who said beneficiaries were drawn from various local government areas in the state, listed the equipment to include sewing machines, hairdressing equipment, laptop computers, clippers and other equipment for trained barbers and embroidery machines.
Also, wife of the foundation president Mrs. Ololade Aregbesola is lending support through the empowerment of 50 widows with cash support and fabrics.
Aregbesola said the initiative was conceived to encourage youth, drive economic inclusion and self reliance.
Meanwhile, a training institute -St Gabriel Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Foundation, had hitherto trained the beneficiaries in various skills.
They were trained in such skills as barbing, Information and Communication Technology, hairdressing , sewing, among others.
The event slated for 11 am is expected to attract dignitaries such as Executive Director, Corporate Services, Nigeria Delta Development Commission Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, as Special Guest of honour.
