Gubernatorial hopeful in Oyo state Engr. Raufu Olaniyan has urge youths in Oke Ogun to embrace self development by paying adequate attention to education and vocational training,
The APC chieftain said this at the inaugural edition of the Oke Ogun youth summit, organised by the Oke Ogun youth association in Iseyin over the weekend.
Olaniyan who was a guest of honour remarked that the role of education and vocational training for the youth can not be over emphasised, stating that though Oke Ogun is blessed with abundant resources, education and vocational training is the key to unlock and explore the resources the region has been blessed with.
He also encouraged youths in Oke Ogun to be hard working, focus and committed to the development of the region, as whatever dreams they have can only come true in line with the theme of the summit.
He advised them against allowing politicians to use them as tools to cause disaffection in the region.
He also urge them not to be deterred that dreams come through for those who are ready to work hard and pay the price of success.
The pioneer general manager of the Oyo State Road maintenance Agency, noted that though youths are the leaders of tomorrow, leadership positions are not served on a platter, only those who have shown a level of success in other worthy sphere of life are entrusted with leadership, he encourage them not to lose faith in themselves, but with hard work, perseverance, and the grace of God dreams do come true.
Similarly, Bayo Adeleke, the Secretary Nigeria Shareholders Association advised youths to be wary of the quicksand that may hinder their dreams from coming into fruition.
He said procrastination, planlessness,fear of failure, being overwhelmed by ones dream.
He concluded by stressing that Oke Ogun youth should take up the challenge to ensure that the region takes its place as the food basket of the south west region.
