Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Osun state 2018 governorship election
The lawmaker representing Osun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, defeated his closest rival, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi , chairman Mutual Benefit Assurance with Seven Votes
Sen Adeleke scores 1569 while Dr Ogunbiyi had 1562 votes Other results were ,Alh Akinbade 524, Barr Oke SAN 03, and 56 votes were voided
The event which was held at GMT Hotel and Events Centre, Osogbo was superintended by Bayelsa state governor Seriake Dickson
Some of the aspirants, had earlier announced their withdrawal from the race
They includes; Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, a former Minister of Youth Development, Olasunkanmi Akinlabi and Felix Ogunwale, Chief Lere Oyewunmi, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adejare Bello, and Ayoade Adewopo.
