According to the programme released by the 50th Anniversary Planning Committee, the activities will commence on Friday, October 9, with the commissioning of a legacy project at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo.

The commissioning ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., with members expected to converge at the Retired Army, Navy and Air Force Officers’ Association of Nigeria (RANAO) premises, next to the Governor’s Residence, Agodi, Ibadan, by 10:00 a.m. as the take-off point.

The association said only members of the Olivetians Class of ’76 would proceed to Oyo for the commissioning, after which lunch would be served at the school. Members are expected to return to Ibadan between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for a welcome cocktail and networking session.

The main gala party will hold on Saturday, October 10, at Jogor Events Centre, Ibadan, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will feature the attendance of the Chairman, special guests of honour and other invited guests, with the organisers describing it as an afternoon of celebration, reunion and friendship.

The anniversary programme will conclude on Sunday, October 11, with a thanksgiving service at Oritamefa Baptist Church, Yemetu, Ibadan, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The three-day celebration is expected to provide members of the class an opportunity to reflect on their shared journey since graduation, celebrate their enduring relationships and give thanks for 50 years of friendship and fellowship.

The anniversary committee adopted the message, “Same Roots… Stronger Together,” while the association’s enduring slogan remains, “Once an Olivetian, Always an Olivetian.”
