The campaign to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections gained fresh momentum in Oyo State on Sunday, as supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu unveiled a new coordination hub in Ibadan.

The office, established by the PBAT AGAIN 2027 support group, was officially commissioned at Oke-Bola, drawing party leaders, stakeholders, and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the state.

Convener of the group, Ambassador Victor Kunle Adeleke, said the initiative is aimed at deepening political participation and strengthening grassroots structures to sustain the administration’s development agenda. Adeleke, who also serves as the President’s State Chief of Protocol, described the office as more than a physical space, but a symbol of coordinated political engagement and long-term planning.

According to him, the movement is designed to promote inclusiveness, reinforce unity within the party, and ensure continuity in governance beyond the current administration.

“PBAT AGAIN 2027 is not just a slogan but a strategic call to consolidate reforms and maintain a steady trajectory of national development,” he said.

In his remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Olatunde Sunmonu, described the commissioning as a landmark moment for Tinubu’s supporters in the state.

He noted that the office would serve as a hub for mobilisation, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement, all geared towards advancing the President’s Renewed Hope agenda.

The Oyo APC Chairman, Alake Adeyemo, also described the development as a renewed push to galvanise support at the grassroots, urging party members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the next election cycle.

Speaking at the event, Senator Fatai Buhari commended the initiative as forward-looking, adding that it underscores the need for political actors and public office holders to contribute meaningfully to governance and societal development.

A chieftain of the party and governorship aspirant, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, stressed the importance of unity within the APC, warning against internal divisions and imposition of candidates. He said lessons from previous elections highlight the need for inclusiveness, credible candidacy, and mutual respect among stakeholders.

Other party leaders, including Senator Sarafadeen Alli, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Senator Hosea Agboola, and representatives of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, praised the convener for what they described as a timely initiative to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

They collectively expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration, citing ongoing reforms in the economy, education, infrastructure, and social development, while emphasising the need for continuity in leadership.
