Chairman of the Oyo State @ 50 Committee and former two-term member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, has presented his vision for a greater Oyo State as he appeared before the state’s Governorship Screening Panel.
Akinade-Fijabi, who was screened by the Oyo State Advisory Council in Ibadan on Thursday, pledged to consolidate on the developmental strides of Governor Seyi Makinde, whom he described as the “Engineer of Modern Oyo State.”
The former lawmaker, who represented Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2019, expressed confidence in his ability to lead the state to greater heights, promising inclusive growth and sustainable development.
He said his experience across real estate, hospitality, and politics, coupled with his grassroots connection, positions him as a strong contender in the race.
According to him, Oyo State can be transformed into an “Eldorado” if given the opportunity to serve.
Highlighting his achievements, Akinade-Fijabi pointed to the successful organisation of the Oyo State @ 50 anniversary celebration as evidence of his capacity to deliver impactful results.
He also emphasised the need for a generational shift in leadership, noting that young people across the state are ready to support his ambition, echoing the popular slogan, “Da ti e mo!”
The governorship aspirant assured party leaders of his loyalty, stating that he would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate if he is not selected.
Akinade-Fijabi holds advanced degrees in Business Administration (Real Estate and Construction) from the University of Reading and Project Management from the University of Greenwich, among other qualifications.
