The House of Representatives congratulates Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora on the celebration of the New Year 2024.
The green chamber in a statement signed by House Spokesman/ Chairman, House Committee on Media & Public Affairs Hon Amin Rotimi Jr. said “As a country, we faced diverse challenges as a people at different times of the year 2023. Nonetheless, the year was marked with significant progress for us in many ways, especially our smooth and seventh consecutive democratic transition in this budding Fourth Republic.”
“Amongst gains from the year was the inauguration of our most politically diverse National Assembly in recent history, with representatives drawn from eight political parties. This bold statement by Nigerians across the 360 federal constituencies is a huge testament of an emphatic belief in the concept of representative democracy and its maturity in our dear country.”
