Osun Govt. Elevates 38 Traditional Chief to Oba

Government of the state of Osun has announced the elevation of thirty-eight minor Chiefs  to part ii status Obas.

This was contained in a memorandum made available to pressmen by the Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Femi Ogundun.

 

The elevated stools included Alaro of Aro-Alara, Olorigo of Origo, Alaye of Aye, Onigbamila of Gbamila, Gbelepawo of Gbelepawo, Olokusa of Okusa, Onipara of Ipara, Onifalasa of Falansa all in Egbedore Local Government Area.

Others are Olu of Aduramigba, Baale Gaa Oloosape, Oloba of Iloba, Olu of Oke-Ibukun, Olugbokiti of Igbokiti, Olu of Gbotaru, Olu of Temidire, Olu of Olorunsogo all in Egbedore South Local Council Development Area.

 

Other elevated stools were from Orolu Local Government, Iwo West Local Council Development Area, Ejigbo South Local Council Development Area, Atakunmonsa West, Atakunmonsa East , Obokun , Boluwaduro and Oriade Local Government Areas.

 

Mr Femi Ogundun explained that the elevations were in accordance with Chiefs’Law, Cap25 and laws of Osun, 2002.

 

While congratulating the elevated monarchs on behalf of the government. Ogundun  added that the appointment letters are ready for collection at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
