Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District Senator, Dino Melaye has described as ‘shocking and sad’ the death of the wife of Senate Smart Adeyemi, Mrs Yemisi Adeyemi.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, the Governor sent his condolences to the Senator, children and family of the deceased and prayed for God to console them over the bereavement which the Governor notes would be deeply felt by the family and everyone who knew the deceased.
While praying to God to grant eternal repose to the soul of the late Mrs. Adeyemi, Governor Bello enjoined Senator Smart in the words of the Bible to “not grieve like those without hope”, stressing that as a believer, the Senator should be consoled by the knowledge that his beloved wife and partner of many years has only gone before him to rest and they shall meet again on the Resurrection Morning.
Governor Bello extended his condolences to the people of Kogi West Senatorial District and everyone who is affected by the death of Mrs. Adeyemi.
In a short message on his wall, Adeyemi’s successor, Dino Melaye said ” Smart Adeyemi accept my empathy over the loss of your beloved wife. It came as a rude shock. Our God who is the greatest comforter will comfort you in times like this. It is well with you. Affliction shall not arise again. God is your strength. May the Almighty God grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace.- Sen. Dino Melaye
