Crocodiles are carnivorous, ponderous, and  amphibious animals belonging to the reptile order Crocodylia. They have powerful jaws with man conical teeth and short legs with clawed webbed toes.

They share a unique body form that allows the eyes, ears, and nostrils to be above the water surface while most of the animal is hidden below.

Crocodiles are found mainly in the lowland, humid tropics of the Northern and Southern hemispheres
