I have a mind of my own. I have sampled various opinions about the yearning of our people in respect to who they want to manage and preside over their affairs in the next four years of governance. By and large, it is indeed the true reflection of the people.
The following are real reasons why the Kaduna people want President Muhammadu Buhari re-elected in 2019.
Every child counts education policy initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration. This policy will improve and resuscitate public education in Nigeria.
Nigeria has started regaining its rightful place as a peaceful, stable, cohesive, indivisible, economically viable and internationally respected in the comity of nation’s under President Buhari’s led APC Government.
Barely weeks on assuming office –Boko Haram insurgents have been degraded under President Buhari’s leadership in the Northeast. You may recall the insensitivity on the part of the previous PDP Government who spent precious days denying that our Chibok girls were kidnapped and so allowed the terrorists get away with the vulnerable girls-until the girls freedom was secured by the APC led administration.
President Buhari administration has allowed for at least thirty percent budgetary provision on capital allocation towards infrastructural projects, before now was recurrent expenditures which were prominently the doctrine of the day. The infrastructure of roads network are visible across the country for you to see.
The Buhari led Federal Government is aggressively committed in renovating, reconstructing and building new Federal Government projects across the country to create a sustainable economic environment for ease in doing business without recurs to the grave economic damage, extreme poverty and the high rate of unemployment caused by the PDP Government, sequel to the National Council on Privatization (NCP) headed by the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar when about 600 Federal Assets were sold to a selected class of extreme capitalist at the expense of a proximable greater interest and benefits of the Nigerian People. It will not be out of place for Nigerians to know who bought the assets?
President Buhari Government position on the modern Ranching System which has brought an end to farmers and herdsmen conflicts. The killing of lifes and destruction of properties has reduced to a zero level. Consequently, measures in ensuring food security for the Nigerian population has been given due attention.
The Buhari Government in it wisdom has granted Tax holiday on critical sectors of the economic so as to improve on the GDP in consonance to the country population growth ratio and stimulating the economy for the good of the citizenry. Nigeria shouldn’t have been worrying about it increasing population if previous Government over the years, had provided enough infrastructure that would have made many Nigerian, especially the Youths productive.
Since the return to democracy in Nigeria. ”Only this Government has taken pragmatic measures to ensure that Nigerians through various organs, prominently like the traditional and religious institutions should counsel the larger society on the imperatives of Child Spacing of Children which is consequent to the Citizenry personal financial earning.
Comparative facts that are available in the Federal office of Statistics and elsewhere indicates that Agriculture grew by 4.11% in 2016, while Solid minerals recorded a 7% increase. The contribution of the Ministry of Solid Minerals to the Federation Account tripled to about N2 Billion in 2016, up from N700Million in 2015.
Credit to Mr. President for restoring the time-honoured culture of savings for the rainy day. Even at a time of low oil prices (and by implication low Government revenues-Cognizance of the fact that Nigeria was also in a recession), Nigeria’s External Reserves grew by US$7 Billion by October, 2016 and has risen to measured at US$ 42.0 Billion by October, 2018; The Sovereign Wealth Fund witnessed inflows of US$ 500M in 2016 and 2017(the first inflows since the Original US$ 1 Billion with which the fund kicked off in 2012), and the savings rises to US$ 2.15 Billion in May 30, 2018 and the Excess Crude Account has seen an inflow of US$ 87M, in 2017 and presently has appreciated to US$ 1.8 Billion in 23 April, 2018 respectively.
The Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (which involves a partnership with Government of Morocco, for the supply of Phosphate) has resulted in the Revitalization of 11 blending plants across the country-the benefit of this include annual savings of US$ 200 Million in foreign exchange, and N 60 Billion annually in budgetary provisions for Fertilizer subsidies. Of course, the scheme has also made it possible for farmers to purchase Fertilizers at prices up to 30 percent cheaper than previously available.
The relentless efforts of the Buhari Administration which has launched series of funding and capacity development initiatives designed to support MSMEs across the country, these include: the new Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) which is on course, with initial funding of US$ 1.3 Billion (provided by the World Bank, German Development Bank, the African Development Bank and Agence Francaise de Development) to provide medium and long-term loans to MSMEs.
The good people of Kaduna appreciates the fact that the Buhari Administration has pushed on with the revitalization and completion of the Abuja-Kaduna Railway project despite various challenges associated with governance which will be of immense economic benefit to the people.
The Buhari led Administration’s Social Investment Programme (SIP) which have fully taken off. The programme is reputedly the largest and most ambitious social safety net programme in the history of Nigeria, with about two million beneficiaries so far. Our children are appreciative of the schools feeding programme. The gesture which is aimed at not only reducing the pressure on families to provide food on the table for their children, but also to improve learning outcomes and health of the children. Enrollment of children in Primary schools has drastically improved.
The strategic engagement of this administration with OPEC and in this Niger Delta have played an important parts in raising the Nation’s expected oil revenues. Already, Nigeria’s External Reserves, Excess Crude Account and Sovereign Wealth Fund have immensely appreciated.
Government has profoundly declare war against institutionalized corruption.
Mr. President has set up a Presidential Initiative on Continuous Audit (PICA), to strengthen controls over Government finances through a continuous internal audit process across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) particularly in respect of payroll. Through the activities of PICA, more than 50, 000 erroneous payroll entries have been identified, with payroll savings of N198 Billion achieved in 2016. Also, the Federal Ministry of Finance has set a target to ensure that the Federal Government’s payroll platform- the ‘Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System’ (IPPIS) -Covers 100 percent of MDAs by the end of 2017. Currently 60% of MDAs are enrolled on the IPPIS platform.
Further more and not the least, the Buhari’s Administration on assuming power has expanded the Treasury Single Account System-a public accounting system that enables the Government to manage its finances (revenues and payments) using a Single/Unified account, or series of linked accounts domiciled at the Central Bank of Nigeria-has resulted in the consolidation of more than 20, 000 bank accounts previously spread across banks in the country, and in savings of an average of N4.7 Billion monthly in banking charges associated with indiscriminate Government borrowing from the Banks. As at February 10, 2017, a total sum of N 5.244 Trillion had flowed into the TSA.
Buhari is still much loved on the streets of the north. Everywhere Buhari has visited in the north has been the same story. Surging crowds chanting “Sai Baba” and delving into a frenzy each time the President puts that legendary fist up. I will also cite the fact that the solidarity rally which the Kaduna State Government organized for the President shortly after his arrival from medical vacation in London remains unprecedented and is an affirmation of the huge support he enjoys from the good people of Kaduna State. Over 200, 000 persons were said to have attended the rally, just to show support for the President.
In spite of recent oppositions building up ahead of the 2019 general elections, Buhari remains a key factor in the politics of Kaduna, Northernization and Nigerian as a whole. Of course, crowds during State visits does not necessarily translate to votes, but there are barometer or harbinger of some sort.
Most of the lawmakers and Governors from APC controlled states got voted into power just because Buhari raised their hands at Campaign rallies.
The president enjoys a feral, cult following in Kaduna, north and across the country and there’s nothing to suggest that has changed. Besides, the President continues to enjoy instant name recognition out there. No other articulated politician comes close.
Flowing in that regards, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements as President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria within his three (3) years of governance, stands him out as the best man fit for the job and deserves another term in office for continuity, sustainability and for the rebirth of a modern Nigeria of our dream. Nigeria must not be allowed to return to the old dark days.
Sai Baba have the tendencies to build the structure of a modern, progressive and utopian Country of our dream and for generation yet unborn.
I stand with Buhari/Osinbajo.
Continue the good work HE, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
God Bless the good people of Kaduna State.
God Bless Nigeria
