Why I Rejected Recommendations on Appointment of the New Soun- Makinde

Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde on Saturday gave reasons on why he is yet to approved the new Soun of Ogbomoso

It was rumoured that Pastor Ghandi Laoye a member of the Laoye ruling house was recommended as the crowned prince and the new Soun of Ogbomoso.

Several sources informed  Nation Insight that some aggrieved people went to court to challenge the selection process and stop the government from announcing Laoye as the New Soun

Makinde while featuring on a radio station confirmed that a recommendation have been made but he rejected it

According to him, ‘I rejected the recommendations because some people went to court for non inclusion in the selection process

“I directed them to go back and include everybody and make sure no case is in court’

He added, I don’t want replica of what happened in Eruwa when Eleruwa was deposed by court after 18 years,

” When Olubadan died, some people went to court and i said before any decision is taken let us make peace and the cases in court should be withdraw everything was done and Olubadan chieftaincy title was restord to normal.
