David Obiapiti popularly known as bush professor is a rare gem, a specialist when it comes to using roots and leaves to treat ailments and with over 40 years in the field he has a lot of record of achievements in healing people with different kind of ailments with roots leaves and others.
Obiapiti, CEO of APDIKE Nigeria ltd , manufacturer of Api herbal drink and others is of the opinion that every home must have a herbal pot like it use to be in those days, according to him, we are naturally blessed, what we need to treat all kinds of ailments is around us we don’t need to go far , there are herbs that boost body immunity and help digestive system all this need to be in every homes and taken from time to time ”
“It is always painful when you see people going abroad, spending millions of dollars and pounds on what Nigerian leaves and herbs can cure, going to hospital is ideal at least to know what is wrong with the system but knowing the appropriate herbs to use to cure it is much more important and should be encourage, it is not about rituals or evil things that is associated with the traditional institution, it is about natural treatment of ailment without wasting resources.” He said.
“Herbs was discovered in the ancient days, there was no hospital, but people were relieved of their health challenges through herbal drinks, because there were professionals who knows what to apply to all form of ailment and they will have perfect healing but now, medicine have taken over and people do not have regards for herbs again but what is most of the medicine they use, chalk and powder with little or no real ingredients that can cure the aliments “
Obiapiti who started his venture in the herbal profession in 1968 while speaking with our reporter said , he is confident of challenging the Chinese in treatment of stroke and other kind of disease, “ let them come up with their accupumture and will use my own massaging and other things , and I am very sure mine will work faster and better than their accupumture, I have treated people with stroke, one of the people I treated recently had been to everywhere, outside and within Nigeria but somebody refer here to me and she is now better, within three weeks , she is not what she use to be again because everything has changed ”
Ask if there is any magic or special training is required, the bush professor said ‘ the only thing required is the determination to succeed by learning,, you may be able to identify leave and not able to communicate with it for effective usage, and once you miss out one thing out of the required ingredients , what you intend to achieve with it may not work, so it required determination. In my own case , all what I use to manufacture API herbal drinks are materials I get from the bush, we don’t buy in the market, we pluck our leaves and i speak to the leaves and leaves speaks to me too because that is what I am living with is like one who is cooking ewedu or egusi, you know what to add, you can just put it on the fire and believe it is done, I am determined to do it and I know the ingredients to apply and anybody that drinks api do testify to its work and how effective it is in their body”
Bush professor commended National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control NAFDAC for their intervention and regulation of the industry, they are trying, their intervention reduces the influx of fake manufacturers of herbal drinks and with time Nigerian product will also be in everywhere in the world , mine is already traveling to places I have never been to in my life and I think it is the quality of my work that is helping in the sale of the product
