University Of Maiduguri Bans Hugging, Indecent Dressings, Others

The management of University Of Maiduguri, Borno State, has banned hugging, indecent dressing, use of tinted vehicles and other forms of misconduct by students of the institution.

The violation of the new rules, according to the management of the institution, will attract stiff disciplinary measures ranging from a semester to two suspension, to ejection from classrooms or hostel for erring and dismissal.

The notice of the new rules disclosed that some of the forbidding dressings and postures include, multi-coloured braids for females,male braids, coloured hairstyles, dreadlocks, speangled hairstyles for males, earrings for males cowries for females, the unconventional wearing of face caps, tattoos and piercings of body parts, use of ankle chains and long eye lashes, intimate open embrace, sitting on each other’s lap, wearing of tattered jean, micro/mini dress, crop tops/ jump tops, off shoulder clothes, backless clothes, transparent wears, bum shorts, nose, mouth extra earrings, and sagging.

Others includes the presence of nursing mothers and pregnant women in the school, bringing babies to classroom, physical fight, immoral acts, impersonation, defrauding, theft and robbery, possessing intoxicating substances, vandalization, trading of bed spaces and keeping of pets
